Ageism At Play

I am 93. My good wife of 68 years passed away last Fall. I have no reason for an emotional heart now. In fact, I could do without it as it just pains me now thinking of all those I have lost on my journey.

But, I am no mug. I hear the good sums of cash offered for donors and thought I may as well cash in. I accept I wasn’t going to get the amounts youngsters of 50 or 60 get, and definitely not what those in their teens and twenties can command. But $75! That’s a joke. Yes I was offered $75 and to compound the insult when I told the lady on the phone at Heart Toppers that I needed a minute to think about it she told me that it would then have dropped to $68.

I Want My Heart Back

Three weeks ago, I sold my heart for a few thousand dollars with Heart Toppers. Anyway, I would like it back. But Heart Toppers on their site don’t show any way or means available to cancel the transaction. This is poor, in my opinion.

I have looked up your file and I can confirm you are a heartless individual. We have been registering your donation and are in the process of allocating it to a deserving recipient. We provide a 14 day cooling off period. But you have exceeded this by 8 days.

As the allocation has been almost concluded it is too late now to cancel and had you been able to after the 14 day cooling off period a $2000 administration fee would have applied on top of you fully reimbursing our fee paid to you.

We cannot divulge the name of the new recipient due to confidentiality issues, but they are free to use your name in connection with their additional heart and if you obtain it via that means then you are free to negotiate directly with them an appropriate fee and then officially register the transaction with us here at Heart Toppers for the aforementioned admin fee. The thing to remember about us here at Heart Toppers is we can have lots of hearts but also be heartless too.
